Wealth in Islam
Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,
“Wealth is not from a lot of money. Wealth is the independence of the self.”
[Agreed upon, Riyad as-Salihin]
This hadith reminds us that true wealth in Islam is not measured by clothes, cars, houses or any other possessions but by the state of the heart. Real richness comes from contentment, being satisfied and grateful with what Allah has provided, and freeing ourselves from dependence on material things.
When a believer relies on Allah and finds peace in His decree, they attain independence of the self and a wealth that no amount of money can replace.
